Spark Arrestors
Chalwyn spark arrestors are of the quenching type as defined in BS EN 1834-1:2000 clause 5.10.2.
In this design the glowing particles emitted from a diesel engine exhaust are repeatedly impacted against internal spark arrestor surfaces to be cooled and broken down before eventual discharge to atmosphere.
These quenching type spark arrestors, may be installed at any position in the exhaust system. Sub-divided into two basic ranges. Available in carbon steel only and suitable for diesel engines with ratings below 7.5 bkW. Manufactured in 100% stainless steel. SSL spark arrestors are available for engines with ratings between 7.5 bkW and 373 bkW. Certified under the ATEX Directive.
